*3rd Graders Living History

Valle Catholic Third Graders participated in the Living History stations hosted by the Milice de Ste Famille, a living history group from Cahokia, IL. The event was held in the Jour de Fete park.

It was an afternoon full of a basic French Infantry musket drill using wooden “Quaker muskets”, use of ropes, blocks, and tackle to pull heavy loads rather than just pull the weight with a rope, learning how French Colonial men and women dressed, rope making, and a presentation of the 18th century medicine.

The students wish to thank the members of the Ecole de Soldat and Sandra Cabot, Ste. Genevieve Director of Tourism for the great time while learning about the past.
