On January 20, 2018, the Valle 7th and 8th grade math team competed in the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) Middle School Qualifying Math Contest at Oak Ridge R6 Middle School.
Valle 7th grader, Peter Roth, son of David and Sheila Roth, scored higher than 80% of the participants in his grade, qualifying him to participate in the MCTM Middle School Mathematics Contest – State Final, which was held on March 24 at Selvidge Middle School in Ballwin, MO.
At the State Final, 177 students from 48 schools across the state of Missouri competed. Ribbons were awarded to the top 5 scorers in each of two tests and to the top 10 who received the highest individual total scores. Peter received a participant ribbon, and it was an honor for him to be selected to participate in the state contest.
