Third Graders in Linda Kertz’s science classes used the scientific method to experiment with and identify causes and effects of static electricity.
We can’t see atoms, but we can see how they behave! The movement of electrons is what causes static electricity. Some objects weighed too much to be picked up by the balloon thus the electrical charge on the balloon was not strong enough to overcome gravity.
