Paula Rose, nutritionist from the Ste. Genevieve County Health Department, made a presentation to Linda Kertz’s third grade science classes at Valle Catholic.
She spoke on “My Plate”, which is the food model, portion sizes, the hidden calories in beverages and snacks and high-fat foods. She provided information to the students to help them make healthier food choices.
Mrs. Rose demonstrated the five food groups that are the building blocks for a healthy diet. Thanks to Mrs. Rose for giving our students this great opportunity.
