Three Valle Catholic 8th Graders were recently recognized as finalists in the Archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate essay contest.
Diamond Byrd (daughter of Randal Byrd), Paul Ahrens (son of Mark and Abby Ahrens) and Reese Metzger (daughter of Alan and Jill Metzger) were honored at a reception on April 18th by representatives of the Respect Life Apostolate and presented certificates by Archbishop Robert Carlson. Congratulations!
The essay contest is open to all 8th Graders who plan to attend a Catholic high school. Students write about the virtue of chastity and how this virtue relates to abortion. The RLA feels it is very important for young people to understand this virtue, especially in light of the often casual attitude toward sexual relationships in our society today.
